1. Data Feed Delays & API Issues
Exodus relies on third-party APIs (CoinGecko, Coinpaprika) to update token prices. Sometimes these feeds lag or experience errors—especially after network forks or sudden token releases.
2. Price Caching & Refresh Rates
Prices in Exodus are cached and updated periodically (usually every few minutes). If you just performed a large transaction or market moved quickly, you may see stale prices till the next refresh.
3. Low Liquidity or New Tokens
Tokens with low trading volume or newly launched assets may not have reliable price data, leading to inaccurate or missing values.
4. Custom or Forked Tokens
If you've added custom tokens by contract address, Exodus may not automatically fetch their price. You may need to manually configure a custom price feed or provide a CoinGecko ID under Settings → Assets.
5. Network & Gas Fluctuations
Gas fees affect portfolio value: high Ethereum or Polygon gas may push total asset value up briefly. This can make token-only values appear off-balance.
6. Unsupported Chains or RPC Glitches
Exodus supports select chains. Data from unsupported chains or RPC errors may cause price display issues until the fallback service restores connection.
How to Fix Incorrect Token Prices
A. Force Refresh Prices
Go to the Portfolio section and drag down or click the refresh icon. This forces a manual update using fresh API data.
B. Restart or Update Exodus
Close and reopen the app. Better yet, update to the latest version: Menu → About → Check for Updates. This may refresh internal caches.
C. Enable/Disable Token
In Settings → Assets, toggle off then on the affected token. This forces the app to re-fetch price info.
D. Add Custom Price Feeds
For tokens without API coverage, add a custom token with its correct contract and price source details under Settings → Assets → Add Custom Token.
E. Wait for Liquidity Development
For newly launched or low-liquidity tokens, price accuracy improves over time as more data becomes available on exchanges and APIs.
F. Monitor API Status
Visit CoinGecko status or Exodus status page to check for ongoing data feed disruptions. These often resolve in minutes to hours.
Preventing Future Price Errors
- Check multiple portfolio views periodically (USD, BTC, ETH).
- Avoid relying on prices during unstable network periods or gas surges.
- Use well-established tokens tracked by major data providers.
- Keep Exodus updated to receive the latest data feed improvements.
